The Family Planning Bureau of Aihui District, Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province has actively carried out IEC activities for the Project of Safe Population Mobility and HIV/AIDS Prevention during the occasion of the 17th World Population Day. On 7 July 2006, knowledge about the project was publicized at a lecture on family education organized by the district women's federation, accompanied by display of 10 demonstration boards and distribution of 200 leaflets. On 11 July 2006, Family Planning Committee of Heihe City and Family Planning Bureau of Aihui District jointly organized IEC activities with the theme of Care for Women and Fight against HIV/AIDS at Huafumen, a busy street in Heihe City. They set up counseling tables, put up banners and publicity boards on HIV/AIDS prevention on both sides of the street, distributed leaflets to the people and answered people's questions. Through these activities, they distributed 2,000 leaflets and 1,500 folders, placed 12 demonstration boards, and answered 10 related questions.

These IEC activities have created strong publicity atmosphere in the society, helped the vast masses to further understand HIV/AIDS prevention and improved their ability of self-protection and enthusiasm in the activity.
