Before the Chinese Spring Festival, Mr. Nouyuki Yamaura, the newly-appointed Resident Representative, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) China Office and accompanying officials paid a visit to National Population and Family Planning Commission of China (NPFPC). Mrs. Hao Linna, Director General, Department of International Cooperation, NPFPC met with the Japanese visitors, had a warm and friendly conversation, and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the Fourth Meeting of the Coordination Committee of the China/Japan Technical Cooperative Pilot Project: Universal Participation in Integrated Poverty Alleviation in Guizhou Province.
JICA is an agency that provides overseas assistance programs on behalf of the Japanese government. It keeps long friendly cooperation of NPFPC. Currently, there are two cooperatives projects: the project to strengthen capacity building in reproductive health and family health care service in central and west China and the above-mentioned project in Guizhou Province. Mr. Nouyuki Yamaura, has rich experiences of international cooperation, as he has been working in JICA offices in Myanma, Morocco and Pakistan for many years.
Both parties agree that, current cooperative projects suit the key fields of Japan's assistance to China and the direction of internal reform and close attention to people's livelihood in China, possess great significance, obtained obvious effectiveness in their implementation, and have been well received by the people. Both parties also exchanged opinions on continuously strengthening of future cooperation.
