On 3 November 2009, Mr. David Robson, Director General, Bureau of International Cooperation, Australian Human Rights Commission, accompanied by a project official, paid a working visit to National Population and Family Planning Commission of China (NPFPC) on the work plan 2009-2010 under China/Australia technical cooperative program on human rights.
Ms. Yao Ying, Deputy Director General, Department of Policy and Legislation of NPFPC, Mr. Shi Yuanming, Division Director from Department of International Cooperation of NPFPC and other officials from the Department of Policy and Legislation attended the meeting.
The two parties reviewed the positive progress made in the 2008-2009 cooperation. Mr. David Robson appraised the work during the past year and hoped for more progress in the mutual cooperation in the future. The Chinese side expressed their thanks for the funding and support the Australian side offered during the project implementation in the past five years. Both parties also discussed the work plan for 2009-2010.
